From January 8 to 9, 2025, Chris, the Director of the Janesville Public School District in Wisconsin, led a delegation to visit the Jiangsu Provincial Education International Exchange Center and the Nanjing Education Bureau for friendly exchanges. The delegation was warmly received by Lu Puxin, Director of the Nanjing Education Bureau, Huangfu Chaohui, Deputy Director of the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office, and Zhan Quanqing, Director of the International Department of the Nanjing Education Bureau.
During the exchange meeting, Director Lu Puxin provided a detailed introduction to the educational scale and development of kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, and high schools in Nanjing. He emphasized that the city has always attached great importance to the development of education, striving to provide high-quality educational resources and environments for students. Director Lu also mentioned that more and more families in Nanjing are focusing on international education and future study abroad plans for their children. Among various study abroad destinations, the United States has become the top choice for Nanjing parents due to its high-quality educational resources, advanced educational concepts, and broad international recognition.
Deputy Director Huangfu Chaohui of the Foreign Affairs Office pointed out that Nanjing is home to over 2,000 American companies and has established sister city relations with 13 cities in the United States. Education cooperation, as an important part of friendly exchanges between cities, has always been a priority for Nanjing.
Director Chris expressed heartfelt thanks for the warm reception from the Nanjing Education Bureau and the Foreign Affairs Office and gave a detailed introduction to the education system in Janesville. He noted that through in-depth exchanges with various schools in Nanjing, he found many similarities in educational philosophies between Janesville and Nanjing, both placing a high emphasis on student learning and development. Director Chris also shared the outstanding performance of the Janesville School District in the 2024 AP exams.
