In response to international educational exchange initiatives, a U.S. public education bureau has long been committed to fostering global educational collaboration. Since 2017, it has formally established friendly ties with Nanjing Gulou District Education Bureau and renewed a cooperation memorandum in 2022 to deepen bilateral educational partnerships. Leveraging this framework, the U.S. bureau actively facilitated an invitation for its partner institution, the UK’s Forres Sandle Manor School, to visit Nanjing Langyalu Primary School, catalyzing educational exchanges and advancing the establishment of a sister-school relationship.
Accompanied by Langyalu Primary School leaders, Principal William Peak and his delegation first toured the campus. The campus, shaded by lush trees and dotted with well-arranged teaching buildings, greeted visitors with students politely offering warm welcomes. Principal Peak then entered a bright classroom to deliver a drama lesson. Through lively performances and interactive activities, he guided students to experience the charm of theater, sparking exceptional enthusiasm in the classroom as pupils immersed themselves in this unique artistic experience.
Following the class, Principal Peak engaged in a symposium with faculty and student representatives. The meeting featured in-depth discussions on educational philosophies and teaching methodologies. Teachers enthusiastically shared practical insights from their pedagogical practices, while Principal Peak elaborated on the distinctive educational strengths of Forres Sandle Manor School. Both sides gained valuable perspectives through mutual learning. Students seized the opportunity to ask Principal Peak questions, ranging from curiosity about overseas school schedules to inquiries about his daily responsibilities.
To conclude the exchange, gifts were exchanged as tokens of mutual goodwill, followed by a group photo in front of the school history museum, immortalizing this memorable encounter. The visit not only strengthened inter-school camaraderie but also infused fresh vitality into Sino-British educational cooperation. Moving forward, both institutions pledge to deepen exchanges and collaboration, jointly advancing the development of educational endeavors.
